Family and Community Development Department (FCDD)

The FCD Department combines AGH projects that focus on working to improve social community structure and systems that promote issues of child rights protection and national development. This department embarks on intervention that works to address the needs of girls in migration (street girls), temporary houses and rehabilitation of children, particularly girls, who are victims of violence. It also works to help people feel social accountability toward fostering community-owned development and a sense of citizenship. It manages and helps certain support groups for women and youths to engage in decent work for increased employment and poverty reduction in the lake zone of Tanzania. There are two projects under this department: A Working Future, and Street Link Initiative. A Working Future helps youths to have the knowledge and means to start up their own businesses. Street Link Initiative does just as the title suggests: it helps find and care for street girls, and link them with their families in a safe and productive manner.
