Fundraiser
We had a successful fundraiser for our Street Girls Reunification program (SGR) July 31st. Gathering at Rock Beach Garden in Mwanza we were aiming to raise enough funds to help the vulnerable girls on the streets. Many attended and were willing to help, and we had a wonderful evening together. AGH and its board worked with a Women’s Group called Chanua, who provided beautiful crafts that were sold in an auction.
“Donate to save lives of vulnerable children and help them to reach their dream”
SGR is an important part of our work. Through our incessant street work we come into contact with girls on the streets in Mwanza. This work is done together with the Police’s Gender and Children’s Desk, the Department of Social Welfare and other stakeholders. We bring vulnerable girls from the streets to our center. There they get the health care they need, informal education, advice about a safe place in society, trauma healing and we make sure that they are safe and protected. Our goal is to bring them back to their families. We do our best to deal with any problem the child might have had, at home, her surrounding community or in school. When we are assured that they have a safe place to return to, we bring them home. We continue to visit the child and their families to see how the girls are progressing.
Amani Girls Home says THANK YOU to everyone for helping the girls!
